the overture
Prelude
In the vibrant metropolis of Houston, The Institute of Hispanic Culture of Houston (IHCH) sought to amplify its melodic diversity, weaving the threads of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) into the community fabric. Enter Mariam Haddad, Co-Chair of the DEI Council alongside Carmen Herrada, ready to conduct an orchestra of change with the ethos of The Performance Communication Company resonating through every note.
The Ensemble
Through experienced thought leadership, Mariam brought an original concept to the table that would build the brand of IHCH to the next level with key corporate sponsors while getting the DEI Council off the ground. She led the formation of an all-star executive committee that harmonized with IHCH's rhythm, crafting an inclusive cadence for 'Electrify Houston.' With Carmen Herrada, Executive Director of Stanton Chase, Mariam united a chorus of diverse voices. Together, they echoed the IHCH's commitment to cultural enrichment, blending DEI within arts and culture, igniting conversations that resonated with joy and social harmony.

Concerto of Collaboration
Through a score of strategic vision and artistic mastery, Mariam orchestrated a collaborative opus. She engaged board members, rallied volunteers, and synergized with organizations like the Greater Houston Partnership. This united ensemble showcased her thought leadership, creative ideation, and inclusive orchestration, celebrating every contributor's part in this magnum opus.
CRESCENDO
The summit crescendoed into a symphony of engagement, drawing a full house of executives who remained not just present but actively participating. This attested to Mariam's ability to lead a team that composed a stellar event, honoring every player's contribution, from vendors to volunteers, as a testament to her collaborative virtuosity.
FortissimO
'Electrify Houston' became the fortissimo of IHCH's year, showcasing the power of artistic expression to unearth profound growth. Mariam's leadership, akin to a maestro's, tuned the event's ethos to the belief that creativity and artistry are vital for community revival and joyful daily living.
ENCORE
As the echoes of 'Electrify Houston' reverberate, the IHCH DEI Council continues to grow, identifying emerging issues and best practices, establishing a resonant forum that uplifts and harmonizes a multicultural workforce.
As each new leader in the Council adds their perspectives and expertise, a legacy continues to unfold as a concerto of practical tools and big-picture visions, coalescing into a symphony of inclusive leadership behavior.

"In this age, taken over by social media & communication overload, I’d like to recommend the work of Mariam Haddad and The Performance Communication Company.
I attended a recent event Electrify Houston, sponsored by the Institute of Hispanic Culture. Ms. Haddad of the Performance Communication Company led a dynamic group of diverse, high-level, C-suite professionals with flawless execution.
Mariam was engaging, she led the team keeping them alert and responsive during an entire full day DEI training. Her voice is magical, calming, reassuring yet affirmative.
She has a unique gift to express, teach and communicate in the most challenging of circumstances. She was also quite gifted to be able to re-direct energies and synergies using them proactively."
