Come as you are: an invitation to prayer

I believe prayer is one of the deepest ways we turn our hearts, minds, souls—and our lives—toward God.
What happens within us when we turn toward Him with our whole being?
And what happens to the way we love when we do?
I want to understand this more deeply.
I am beginning an inquiry. I will listen, read, pray, and learn from saints, priests, monastics, people of other faiths, poets, artists, scientists, friends, and ordinary people whose lives have been shaped by prayer.
I come to this question from within my own Orthodox Christian life—but simply as a human being who is still learning.
I will share what I receive and what I discover along the way, as honestly and faithfully as I can.
Jesus taught us to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength—and to love our neighbor as ourselves.
I want to learn how to live that more fully. I wonder what becomes possible when we listen to understand.
What might we discover when we seek, knock, and ask—ready to receive what we do not yet know?
How might the world around us change if each of us learned to love just a little better?
What if we offered even one percent more—and trusted God to meet that small offering with the abundance of His grace?
How might that begin to transform us, our relationships, and the world around us?
This journey is an effort to better understand prayer: what it is, how it changes us, and how it may teach us to love God and one another more deeply.
Please come as you are. Share your questions, your experiences, and even your doubts.
You are welcome to join me in the journey.
